Mountain Arnica Seeds (Arnica Montana) By Sementi Dotto

Very large golden flowers on long, sturdy stalks open on this this popular, easily-grown plant. This is the official plant that provides the basis for homeopathic remedies, oil infusions, compresses and salves, and many other natural cures and remedies. Arnica montana is endemic to Europe, from southern Iberia to southern Scandinavia and the Carpathians, but is absent from the British Isles.

Widely used in externally applied homeopathic preparations for sprains, bruises, muscle aches, and trauma. Clinical studies have shown that such topical preparations are as effective as ibuprofen in treating osteoarthritis. I use the pressed oil (mixed with rose hip oil)  in my daily facial moisturizing and it is fantastic for reducing wrinkles and fine lines and just making my skin feel smooth.

Cultivation and Growing Information

Thrives in a mix of loam, peat and sand. Sow in early spring in a cold frame and plant out in May. Takes 2-7 weeks to germinate at 67 to 75 degrees , so if you are starting indoors, please use a heat mat to ensure good germination.
